Yay, Chapter 6! The "beginning of the chapter" text up until now has been modeled after the parallel couplets often found in Biblical proverbs and psalms. Here it mimics Jesus' responses to Jewish traditions in Matthew 5 and also references my made up proverb from the opening of Chapter 2. The more you know!

As a reminder, this is Marlowe, the tailor, who is a woman disguised as a man. And the customer is Bernard, who we haven't seen for a long time. He's the friend Neville visited with at the end of Chapter 2, and he made a brief appearance at the Ball.

Awww the poor guy :( Kinda sad in hindsight, because you had built Neville up as a bit of a bad guy, but it turned out he wasn't, and this just adds to that :( Marlowe's gotta let out some of her softer female side to comfort him! T__T

Yeah, Neville had kind of turned to dishonest methods out of desperation. He was a pretty OK guy, really. :( Hopefully Marlowe doesn't let out too much of that female side in helping Bernard. D:

I think that's one of the best, thoughtful quotes I've ever heard. <3

He'll probably just assume that Marlowe has been bulking up on all those pastries from across the street.

They, of course, sell the <url="">best cakes</url>.
