Oh hey it's that page. ComicFury members may have seen the thread where I asked for help with the panel layout for this one. Well, here's the finished product! If anyone's curious, I've made the old version (now with words!) the new TWC voting incentive. I think there are pros and cons to both versions, but once I drew the first panel of this one I had to keep it. :)

Elgin has this incredible way of alternately being totally suave and then putting his foot in it in the worst way possible, so this is probably good advice. And yay! I should post tantalizing wordless pages more often.

Glad to finally see the page you put on the critique page! I see what you mean with the dialogue forcing you to draw the characters themselves. Although I have one non-paneling input/critique here, and I hope you don't mind...(if you would rather I just shut up and read I will happily do so!) but Nova's face is a bit odd on the big frame. It's more of a face I'd imagine on Elgin. I really like how on previous pages you draw Nova as a feminine character with masculine behaviors, and this one just seems...not her. I dunno, maybe I'm crazy.

Anyway, great page! And I agree with Matt, I'm looking forward to these guys getting a bath, haha.

I always appreciate critique! Nova does have a... for lack of a better word... jolly side. She finds this oddity of human behavior particularly entertaining so she's gonna laugh at it. You're right that this is something we haven't really seen from her yet, but it's definitely part of who she is. HOWEVER I am never above saying that I didn't execute on it perfectly, and that what I see in that facial expression may not be coming across to others. :)

I'll be glad when they've bathed too because I won't have to remember the dirt layer at the last minute EVERY TIME. :P
